Mid-term review

This week is a little slower compared to the previous week.  The instructors in FSU have chosen to reduce the workload for this week, allowing more time for me to read my books and to reflect. The first half of the semester has been particularly helpful for me as I got to learn new tools and I learnt more about online learning communities and spaces. In fact, I had a lot of opportunities to participate in some learning communities, and I found myself benefitting from the informal learning when members in the communities shared their ideas, resources, and experiences.

I am still clueless when it comes to designing learning using social media for my own students. I have yet to see exemplary models that I can relate to the module that I am teaching (Critical Thinking and Problem Solving). Nevertheless, I look forward to the second half of the semester. I hope  that through this course, I get to learn learning design strategies to help my students be produsers rather than consumers of information.

  1. Sharon, I would highly recommend visiting Lissa' blog at https://toweb20andbeyond.blogspot.com/. It was hugely beneficial for me for the same reasons that you mentioned in this blog. She has taken blogging to a different level and turned it into knowledge sharing. After reading her blog and diving into her resources, I am now armed with more information and tools to better tackle the PLN project.
